Yes, most games are designed for first-time players and include simple instructions, making them easy to understand and enjoy. Remember, everyone is a beginner the first time they play.

• Our "Bogan Bride (or Redneck Bride) and the Billionaire" theme is set at a wedding and is perfect.
• Our "Hollywood Scandal" theme has characters that could either be boys or girls with names like "The Star" and "The Producer".
• Our "Wild West" theme involves a wedding and a baby swap and is great for a Hen’s Night (some guests will be boys but this increases the fun!)

No, most modern games use prompts and guided dialogue rather than scripts, so players can participate naturally without remembering lines. Our experience is that players prefer this as scripts put them under too much pressure.

No acting experience is required. Players can participate at their own comfort level, from fully in-character to simply reading clues. If the murder mystery places participants in groups this is even better. The more gregarious players can take the spotlight while the more reserved players can share clues or sleuth away in the background.

We recommend that you don't assign characters until the night of the event. This means that if people are sick at the last minute then the game will not be affected. You can give people suggestions as to the type of character they are e.g. come as a surgeon, dress as a hippie. This way they are dressed generically and can suit a wide range of characters. It is best to let your host put people into groups and assign characters on the night.

No, but they play the game the same as everyone else. The murderer is a specific character that the host will pick at the start of the night but that person does not know they are the murderer.

Our experience has shown that this is the better strategy. When someone knows they are the murderer they often act "nervous" or "different" and this can cause people to choose them just by how they are acting. We want everyone to enjoy the game whether they are the murderer or not.
